The Blue-Green Action Platform Information System (BlueGAP IS) is a cutting-edge cyber infrastructure platform designed to assist with comprehensive water quality data analysis and provide detailed demographic statistics. The platform leverages artificial intelligence technologies in key regions, including Iowa, Tampa, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. BlueGAP IS is a collaborative effort, developed through partnerships between institutions like the University of South Florida, the University of Iowa, and organizations such as Black In Marine Science and the Tampa Bay Estuary Program.
BlueGAP is designed to support water quality management by focusing on nitrogen-related compounds in water, which are crucial for maintaining the ecological health of the pilot regions. Working closely with local stakeholders in three pilot watersheds, the platform seeks to improve water quality management practices in Iowa, Florida, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Through its innovative design, BlueGAP IS provides users with intuitive tools to access, analyze, and track water quality data, making it a valuable resource for improving nitrogen management and promoting sustainable water practices in these regions.
The platform encourages collaboration between local organizations and communities to foster better understanding of water quality issues and drive informed decision-making regarding water sustainability.
